Uganda Project

Over the past year, my sister had the life-changing opportunity to travel to Uganda, where she helped lay the foundation for building a school and cared for children in a rural village. While there, she witnessed the immense struggles the community faced—children attending school on empty stomachs, classrooms with minimal resources, and mothers desperate to break the cycle of poverty but lacking access to family planning or basic necessities. Her time there revealed the urgent need for long-term support and sustainable solutions rather than one-time efforts.

Inspired by her experience, we’ve started collaborating with Tuko’laganhe Youth Foundation, a grassroots organization in Uganda founded by a local teacher and former volunteers. Their mission is to provide early childhood education, vocational training for youth, and community education to improve health and economic stability. They envision a world where children in rural communities have the same opportunities as those in urban areas, equipping them with the skills and resources to become future leaders.

Currently, we’re awaiting potential funding from a school in Madrid (FSTA) and are excited to begin our work this year. Our initial plans include redesigning the website for improved readability and functionality, enhancing the foundation’s social media presence to raise awareness, and brainstorming actionable ways to support the community. This includes seeking tangible solutions like finding sponsors and creating partnerships to ensure the foundation’s long-term impact.

If you or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring, collaborating, volunteering, or supporting this initiative in any way, please feel free to reach out! You can connect with us on Instagram at @tukolaganhe. Together, we can make a difference!
